Bird Forestry Home

AEL serves a diverse spectrum of clientele in the public and private sector in both a forestry and environmental capacity.  AEL offers a highly personalized service, customized to meet each client’s goals and objectives.  A sample of our forest landowners and the services provided are listed as follows:

JFS Timber Partners, LTD
Since 1980, AEL has managed and conducted all forestry operations for JFS Timber Partners, LTD (JFS).  The land base consists of thirty-plus properties located in five East Texas counties and one Louisiana parish.  Forestry operations include in depth inventories and appraisals, quarterly property inspections, forest product sales, harvesting supervisions, reforestation and wildlife management.  Total acreage of JFS consists of 6,500+ acres.

Lone Star Steel Company
AEL began providing land management services for Lone Star Steel Company (LSS) in early 2005.  Our initial service was to evaluate all surface ownership rights owned by LSS in Texas and Oklahoma.  This role eventually turned into a total land management service in which our responsibilities include evaluating mineral rights, timber product sales, boundary maintenance, property lease preparations, timber product sales and reforestation on 7,000+ acres.

Attoyac River Ranch
The Attoyac River Ranch (ARR) is a classic example of our clientele.  This family-based forestry investment client approached us for assistance on 1,100 acres of timberland in Nacogdoches County.  Activities on this farm have included resource management planning, forest product sales and intensive reforestation activities.  Wildlife habitat management and enhancement continue to be on-going activities on this farm.  We have also functioned as a preliminary assessment team in ARR’s continued acquisition of additional forestlands in East Texas.  Further consultations on taxation, pond building, and road maintenance have assisted ARR in the management of their properties.

Jerry Brockett
Jerry Brockett, a Dallas businessman, is currently retaining the services of AEL.  AEL assists Mr. Brockett in managing 6 tracts totaling approximately 700 acres in East Texas.  Activities include forest product sales, oil and gas damage appraisals and wildlife management activities.

Durst Lakes
This family owned enterprise is breaking new ground in Cherokee County, Texas.  AEL has been assisting in the re-establishment of longleaf pine ecosystem, as well as an uneven-aged management system on loblolly-shortleaf pine.
